Almost 2.3 million Canadian Immigration, Citizenship, and visa registrations have been below processing due to the recent IRCC backlog information posted on July 25, 2023. Among these 2,264,000 operating lists, 801,000 were in backlog yet surpassing the normal IRCC service criteria. One million four hundred sixty-two thousand seven hundred requests were under processed within regular IRCC service criteria, which is 34,700 high as described in relation to past backlog updates. The backlog recently lowered by 19,000 requests compared to the previous month’s information. This information is the new statement by the immigration division on the operating list posted on July 25, 2023, and is up-to-date as on June 30, 2023. Backlog of requests lowered most by 13.25 percent for citizenship requests, however, just by 1.62 percent for permanent occupancy, whereas by only 0.70 percent for short-term occupancy requests.

Difference Between Backlog Information and IRCC Service Criteria
It is important to have a knowledge of what IRCC declares on the difference between information on backlog and information on service criteria. To provide one instance, the general amount of time required to present a request for spousal support is 12 months. It is “NOT” considered a backlog if a request is already being operated and the time restriction of one year has not been surpassed. Rather, IRCC will handle this as one of their normal operations. Just in the situation that the operating time for that spousal support request prolongs above the verge of one year, would it become a backlog? Based on the service criteria, the immigration division intends to operate 80 percent of the request that is presented.
